8 Factors Make
PDC Packaging Machines Better |
Our ability to customize a system to your requirements is what makes PDC shrink tunnels
an exceptional choice – and an exceptional value! As with all PDC systems, we can offer
recommendations based on your container shape, size, substrate and temperature, the line
speed you require, whether containers are empty filled, and other variables.
We also have decades of experience with the performance characteristics of various
shrink materials, so if you’re deciding between PVC, PETG, OPS and PLA (the new corn-based material) equipment, we can provide objective insights applicable to your application.

Available either Hot Air or Radiant |
Convection Hot Air Shrink Tunnels
Finned Tubular Heater elements provide a highly efficient, reliable and low cost means of rapidly supplying heat directly to air, which is delivered to the heat shrinkable bands or labels.
Radiant Infrared Shrink Tunnels
Radiant heat transfers directly from elements to package. Infrared radiation is transmitted by electromagnetic waves, similar to sunlight, and is independent of either direct contact or air.
Pre and Post Shrink Systems
PDC Pre-Shrink systems apply focused heat before the shrink tunnels to optimize the positioning of the shrinkband. Post-Shrink machines apply concentrated heat after the product exits the shrink tunnels to complete the shrinking of the shrink sleeve. Systems are often interfaced with the machine and include adjustable mounts, an air regulator and filter and fused disconnect.
Electrical Requirements
Standard 208/240 VAC 3 ph – Optional 440/480 or 575 VAC 3 ph Amperage varies with the size of the shrink tunnels.

An adjustable manifold system provides highly efficient, reliable and low cost means of rapidly supplying steam directly to the heat shrinkable sleeves. Our steam shrink tunnels provide the most uniform and distortion-free results and are particularly well suited for full body shrink labels.

Adjustable Steam Distributors
PDC shrink tunnels have 4 or 5 rows of tubes on each side and each tube is externally adjustable for steam volume flow and rotary position of nozzles. This allows focused application of steam to specific points on the package and adjustments can be made without waiting for the tunnel to cool down.
Pre and Post Shrink Systems
PDC Pre-Shrink systems apply focused heat before the shrink tunnel to optimize the positioning of the shrinkband. Post-Shrink systems apply concentrated heat after the product exits the shrink tunnel to complete the shrinking of the shrink sleeve. These systems are often interfaced with the machine and include adjustable mounts, an air regulator and filter and fused disconnect.
